Chelsea see off Watford

Saturday’s late Premier League game saw Frank Lampard take his side to Watford.

The Hornets began the day having lost their opening 10 Premier League ties this season.

That record looked set to continue for at least another week when Chelsea youth product Tammy Abraham put his side 1-0 up inside five minutes.

Christian Pulisic was once again amongst the goals at Vicarage Road, doubling Chelsea’s lead in the 55th minute.

Gerard Deulofeu would pull one back for Watford from the penalty spot after the Spaniard won a slightly controversial penalty.

However, it was too little too late and Chelsea left Watford with all three points.

Abraham on his Watford goal

As mentioned above, Tammy Abraham would open the scoring for Chelsea vs Watford.

Abraham would bag his 9th Premier League goal of the season after a sensational through-ball from Jorginho.

Abraham has since revealed that he and Jorginho had been working on the goal in training.

When speaking about his strike vs Watford, Abraham stated:

“We have been working on that in training.

“He [Jorginho] told me he was going to try it today so I just had to time my run, try to stay onside and get a good finish and that is what I did.

“We have been doing it a lot in training and we have tried it a few times this season. It has come off a few times and sometimes it hasn’t but I was ready today.” As quoted by Chelsea’s official website.
