Sterling is a regular in the national side these day but the winger also wants his Man City counterpart Foden in the team.

Speaking about Foden after the Dinamo Zagreb tie, Sterling stated:

“The players that we have here, you have to read the game and the goals will come. I’m buzzing for Phil and I want him in the national team. If he keeps going he will be there.” As quoted by the Mirror.

Pep Guardiola also mentioned Foden after the Zagreb tie, stating the midfielder deserves to play:

“I know he deserves to play and I want to give him minutes.

“I’m unfair to him. I’m sorry, but he has De Bruyne, Silva, Rodri.

“I know the best way is for him to play minutes, but he’s so young. I don’t know how many players of his age has played so many minutes. He’s going to be incredible in the future, but it is what it is.” As quoted by the Mirror.
